Windows Phone 7 Review
17:14
http://twitter.com/chrispirillo -
http://chris.pirillo.com/ - First, if you
have any questions for the Windows Phone 7
Series team, I'd be more than happy to ask on
your behalf (as I do live around the corner
from Redmond's campus and will be meeting
with the team again at some point in the
future). Post a comment and/or video
response. I was invited to a behind the
scenes look at elements of the Windows Phone
7 Series developer platform. At Mobile World
Congress (covered earlier in this channel),
Microsoft provided a first look at Windows
Phone 7 Series - and Im pleased to offer you
the opportunity to see a live demonstration
up close. Yes, I got to play with the phone,
too. It works as advertised - even as a
prototype. Unfortunately, we could not adjust
the brightness settings in this particular
device. The "Metro" interface is a bucket of
win in my book. Charlie Kindel partner group
program manager, Windows Phone App Platform &
Developer Experience was hosting an intimate
reception this evening in San Francisco. I
wasn't able to make it, but Microsoft
arranged a somewhat more private meeting with
Greg Sullivan from the Windows Phone team a
little closer to home. I met Greg a few years
ago through the Longhorn Labs project (back
when Microsoft Windows team leads worked
actively with their most vocal community
supporters). I'm not sure if I can reveal any
more device details at this point, but
suffice it to say... I want one.

Humanscale Freedom Chair Vs LIFEFORM
Executive

1:33
A two-minute quick and dirty comparative demo
of two high-end ergonomic chairs: The
Humanscale Freedom Chair with headrest and
the Lifeform Ultimate High back Executive,
with Dreamweave fabric. (Sorry for the
cropping but we just didn't have enough room
:) /nThe Lifeform is padded with
pressure-sensitive memory foam, which I show
better in my other videos. The Freedom chair,
of course, is pretty well known these days,
having won many design awards. Humanscale's
design philosophy has been to make an organic
product that reveals its benefits with no
manual effort from the user./nLifeform, on
the other hand, comes with several more
paddles for adjustment. You can fix the chair
in pretty much any angle of seat and backrest
you can imagine. Now that's not to say that
it doesn't have free-float recline, for
instance, because it does. Plus a nice
tension control knob too. Nor is the Freedom
chair, on the other hand, a completely
"hand-free" product. You do have to tweak the
back-rest lever for a bit. While not on
opposite extremes of this continuum, the
Freedom and Lifeform chairs are likely to
appeal to different styles of
ergonomically-minded users. Maybe we can
start a discussion here about this./nIn any
case keep in mind this demo has not meant to
be exhaustive. Perhaps I will make another
presentation that is much more in-depth and
rigorous./nOh, about prices. The Freedom
chair as you see it (standard seat, advanced
armrests, graphite base) retails for about
$1.5. (Make sure if you buy online that many
vendors will show a high-end configuration,
alongside a price tag for the bare-bones
version.) The Lifeform is a couple of hundred
more. Either will exceed 2K if fully loaded
with leather. And both models have tons of
fabric and leather options. /nYou can get the
Freedom from many vendors, while the Lifeform
is only available at Relax the Back Stores in
N. America. There's about a hundred of them
in the US, and two in Canada./nBtw, if you
really want to read an awesome book about
chairs, and help you make a decision what
seating product is best for you from a
holistic perspective, pick up The Chair, by
Galen Cranz. And remember, you don't NEED an
expensive chair to maintain proper posture.
In practice though, we all tend to slouch,
put excessive load on the wrists, etc. A
high-end ergonomic chair will encourage you
to sit better longer, and so will make the
difference. Just by making you aware how you
sit, in fact, the investment in this chair is
likely to be a good one. And certainly better
than spending your money on a new set of tire
rims... Again, let us know what you think by
posting a comment.

Beretta M9/Model 92 Pistol: Gargantuan
9mm, Part 1

10:4
PART 1 of 3: Nutnfancys look at an in-service
Beretta M9 service pistol. The M9 was one of
the designs that helped change the world
looks at semi-automatic pistols due to its
reliability and demonstrated durability. It
has amassed a generally excellent track
record in service with the military but does
have some drawbacks. I contend its overly
large for the 9mm loading even when compared
against other full size pistols, its entirely
too heavy, has more complexity, and can be
less reliable than the Glock and Sig designs
(from my OWN experience which is
irrefutablesaw it with my own eyesyours may
vary). However it has a decent traditional
SA/DA trigger, good accuracy, tough
weather-resistant Bruniton finish, and good
firepower. The open slide was a modification
designed to help reliability but its
overrated in purpose and other closed-slide
designs have proven extremely reliable in
equally dirty conditions. Nowadays the
Beretta is a dated design that has been
surpassed by lots of other handguns in the
categories listed. Nutnfancy Likeability
